So, how funny are you? Discuss your entertainment speech here. Please include your discussion the strategy you used to produce your humor. What kinds of things did you do with both content and message to adapt to your audience's needs in this speech?

Persuasive Speech

Post your self critique here for your most recent speech. What kinds of improvements could you have made individually? What kinds of improvements could you have made in the group message? What types of things worked with your message?

Informative Speeches

Please post your speech critique of an assigned clasmate here. You should include three strengths and three improvement suggestions of action to help them work towards practicing in their next speech. This post is due by Thursday, Nov. 4th

Our First Blog Post! Wowful speaking

Today's post is about "wowful" speaking. Find a clip of a wowful speaker. Post a minimum of 150 explaining why you admire them. Why are they a contagious speaker? Is it their delivery? Content? Passion? What qualities do they bring to achieving effective presentational speaking? Support your answer with at least 150 word post by next class on Monday, Sept. 20th at the start of class.

Welcome to Public Speaking at Kean

Welcome to Public Speaking. I look forward to getting to know you. I hope that you will find this course helpful in becoming better communicators. We are a small class this semester which will hopefully be beneficial to you. The audience will be smaller and we will have the opportunity to perform more. The basic premise with public speaking is to learn the criteria for effective speaking and than, keep practicing. Post a comment to this blog for our first class and introduced yourself to the class.
